Building Great Websites With Joomla and Free Joomla Templates
Joomla is a content management system that is free to use. It is open source software licensed under General Public Licence (GPL); anyone can use it as they choose. Joomla is a professional and robust system and building websites with Joomla is a choice that an increasing number of people are making the decision to do.
There is a vibrant community that has built up around Joomla. Developers build templates to suit any project. Some are offered for sale, but many are available free. Free Joomla templates are not necessarily inferior in quality. In fact, some of the best templates you will find are free, and that is the great thing about Joomla community; they share freely with each other.
Joomla has a birth date. It is August 17th 2005, though it was not until September 1st that the name Joomla was actually announced. Joomla 1.0.0, the first release of the software, was on September 16th and it was actually Mambo 4.5.2.3 in a re-branded package. However, it went on to win the Packt Publishing Open Source Content Management System Award the following year in 2006, and again in 2007.
Building great websites with Joomla using free Joomla templates is really very easy, even though the software does have a reputation of being difficult to learn. There are plenty of tutorials around to help anyone who wants to discover how to plug into the power of Joomla, and the official Joomla forum has close to one and a half million posts on it. There's plenty of free information available on just about everything to do with Joomla.
The Joomla content management system works by having the ability to increase the basic power of the software through adding modules that extend its reach. These modules, known as plugins, integrate fully with the basic software. They can add usefulness to a website in the form of a calendar, a forum, a user poll, a blog, and many other features commonly found on today's increasingly interactive websites.
While making websites with Joomla usually means creating the larger portal type of web site, small personal web sites can easily be built too. Joomla has considerable power and the software is extremely robust. This makes it ideally suitable for the serious professional website, but as already mentioned, any size of website can be built with Joomla.
Although the same basic software makes every Joomla website, it is the template that makes each one look distinctive. There are many, many thousands of Joomla templates available from thousands of websites. While you can purchase a template specially coded, and therefore unique to you, you don't have to.
A recent search on a major search engine returned almost a million results for the phrase, "free Joomla templates". Consider that each website in the results is likely to have dozens of templates and you can see that there is one somewhere out there that is ideal for you without costing you a penny.
Making websites with Joomla is not only easy, but low cost too. The software is extremely robust and as good as it gets. Finding a template is not only easy, but hard to avoid. There really is no reason why anyone should not be creating websites with Joomla.

some new inventions
the latest inventions in science, we know that the scientists are currently working on the development of 'smart' contact lenses able to measure pressure within the eye and distribute medicament according to the measurements. They invented a new material called polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). Then, they managed to place powdered silver, with antimicrobial properties, on the PDMS in a precise pattern, thus creating conductive wires.
The scientists gave the PDMS-silver a contact -lens shape, so it could serve as a simple pressure sensor. A contact lens for continuous measurement of pressure within the eye and transmitting the data to a computer would greatly help doctors find out more about glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, and improve the ways of its treatment.

everything about swini flu H1N1
Everything You Need to Know
About the h1n1 virus image
"H1n1 Virus", or
"SwineFlu"
from healthmad.com
This article contains everything you need to know about the H1N1 virus, or more commonly referred to as the “swine flu,” without all of the not needed information.
The first spotted case of swine flu was in April, 2009 and since then has spread to most every state of the U.S.A. This new spread of the influenza virus has especially hit the southern states, including Texas, California, and Arizona. With no strong antiviral medicine for this strain on flu, this virus is dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.

How Can It Be Caught?
The H1N1 virus is as many other virus transferred majorly through coughing and sneezing. The germs of coughs and sneezes can float in the air for days before settling, so it is always important to cover your cough or sneeze. It is advised to stay out of small, enclosed spaces if ever possible (ie: subway), for germs can easily get to you. It is also advised to avoid contact with your mouth, nose, or ears because they are nothing but a highway for germs. Like your mother always told you, wash your hands constantly. Though many people think you can obtain swine flu from eating pork or other related products, the truth is you can’t. Make sure the meat is heated to and internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. for that kills all viruses and bacteria.Symptoms
The symptoms of swine flu are that of a traditional, seasonal flu.
- Fever
- Lethargy
- Lack of Appetite
- Coughing
- Runny Nose
- Sore Throat
- Nausea
- Diarrhea

Safety questions are being raised about the rush to get an H1N1 vaccine into the hands of doctors before the virus re-emerges this fall, possibly more dangerous and widespread than it was last spring. And, those questions are brewing concern among many Americans wondering whether to risk putting off being vaccinated, or take a shot at beating the bug before it gains the upperhand.
“They’re pushing it as fast as they can, but they still have to meet good manufacturing standards,” said Dr. Peter Gross, senior vice president and chief medical officer at Hackensack University Medical Center.
“It will be tested to make sure it’s safe and contains the proper amounts of protective antibodies,” said Gross, who tested flu vaccines for 20 years for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
How It’s Being Made
Each year, scientists with the FDA, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health, and vaccine manufacturers meet in January or February to decide which strains of the flu virus will be included in the seasonal flu vaccine.
From there, the chosen strains will be sent to the World Health Organization so that its scientists can view the selected strains and make any necessary — though usually minor — changes, said Gross.
“So they really start the process nine months ahead of time,” Gross said.
Manufacturers begin making the virus in the spring so that it will be ready to use in the fall.
Like the seasonal flu vaccine, the new H1N1 vaccine will be made using innoculated eggs. The viruses used in the manufacturing process are dead, which means they cannot sicken people who are vaccinated, but will help them build immunity to live viruses — that can be spread from person to person. Unlike, the seasonal flu vaccine, the new H1N1 vaccine will contain just one strain of the flu virus instead of three.
H1N1 Is Nothing New
The H1N1 flu virus has been around for decades in various strains. The new virus, however, is different in that it contains a mix of human, bird and swine strains of the virus.
“An H1N1 strain has been included in the influenza vaccine every year since 1977,” Gross said, “which is why the elderly and people in their 50s who have been getting the vaccine for the past 32 years are not really at a significant risk for complications from the novel H1N1 virus, like they are from the seasonal flu.”
The process of manufacturing the H1N1 vaccine is also being made over a much shorter time period than the traditional flu vaccine because of fears of what might happen should a fall or winter outbreak occur and no vaccine be available.
“If people aren’t vaccinated, you’re going to see a lot more complications, a lot more hospitalizations,” said Gross. “Even so, we have to realize that the experience the U.S. had with novel H1N1 virus is very different than the experience Mexico had. Mexico had a lot more deaths. We’ve had 500 to 600, and I’m not trying to minimize any of the deaths, but that’s not even on par with the seasonal flu, which results in about 35,000 deaths.”
The first human volunteers to test the new vaccine were inoculated this month. Most of the volunteers will receive two shots, spaced three weeks apart and it will take another few weeks for volunteers to demonstrate full immunity to the virus if the vaccine works the way it should.
Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said Monday that all Americans who receive the vaccine will also need two shots, meaning that if the vaccine arrives on schedule for mid-October, most will not have full immunity to the virus until Thanksgiving.
However, fears that manufacturers are moving too fast may be unfounded.
“If the vaccine passes all of the trials and the only thing that results is a sore arm, then most people who receive the vaccine will probably only receive a sore arm,” Gross said. “Serious side effects are rare and we might not know what those will be until 100,000 or a million people are vaccinated. Serious side effects for the polio vaccine were 1 in a million and that’s something you can’t figure out until a million people are vaccinated.”
Three Shots Instead of One?
Americans are potentially looking at three flu shots this year instead of the normal one shot. That would include one for the seasonal flu, and two for the new H1N1 virus.
Who should consider getting all three?
“Pregnant women, people in their 20s to 40s, very young children and, in contrast to previous years, those above 50 will not need the H1N1 vaccine unless they are in a high risk category or have underlying health problems,” Gross said.
“They’re pushing it as fast as they can, but they still have to meet good manufacturing standards,” said Dr. Peter Gross, senior vice president and chief medical officer at Hackensack University Medical Center.
